Meet Anabella
Santa Barbara is where my story begins
I was born and raised here, attended our public schools, built my career here, and am now raising my own family in the community that raised me.
That history shapes how I see local government — not as an abstract system, but as decisions that reach into ordinary life.
Deep Roots
A life shaped by the community I want to serve
Santa Barbara has shaped four generations of my family. I grew up here, attended local public schools, built my career here, and am raising the next generation here. Those experiences give me a personal understanding of how local decisions reach into everyday life.
A Life Here
A life here is more than a résumé
My experience spans public schools, education, County service, small business, and family life. Each part has shown me something different about how Santa Barbara works — and who feels the consequences when it does not.
Growing Up Here
Santa Barbara is where I learned what community means, from local schools to the neighborhoods and institutions that shaped my family.
Public Schools + UCSB
I attended local public schools and studied Law & Society and Spanish at UCSB, grounding my education in the community I already knew as home.
Education
Five years working in education taught me how much patience, communication, and consistency matter when people are counting on you.
County Service
Five years with Santa Barbara County Social Services gave me a close view of how public systems affect families in moments when government needs to work.
Small Business
As a local small-business owner, I know what it means to manage details, serve clients, solve problems, and navigate the rules that shape everyday work.
Raising a Family
I am raising my two children in the city that raised me, which keeps the future of Santa Barbara personal and immediate.
How I See the Work
Local decisions show up in ordinary life
A permit, a housing decision, a public-safety response, a City service, or a budget choice can change a family’s week, a business owner’s plans, or the feel of a neighborhood. I want City Hall to stay close to those everyday realities.
Stay Close to Daily Life
Look at how a decision lands on the people who actually have to live with it.
Use the Experience in the Room
Residents, workers, City staff, businesses, and community organizations each know something important about the problem.
Keep Santa Barbara Livable
Change should make it easier for people to remain connected to this community, not harder.
Think in Generations
Good local decisions should make sense for the people here today and for the families who will inherit what we build.
Where I Stand
I know Santa Barbara as home first
That is the perspective I would bring to City Council — grounded in the people, neighborhoods, and everyday decisions that make this city work.
