Sign Placement
A quick note before you put it out
I want every sign placed respectfully and legally. The rules change depending on where it goes, so these are the key ones to know
City of Santa Barbara
On-site noncommercial signs may be placed with the property owner’s or tenant’s permission. In residential zones, the City’s permit exemption covers up to six square feet total per lot. The City also permits certain temporary off-site signs in parkway areas on weekends only, subject to size, location, and placement limits.
Santa Barbara County
In unincorporated Santa Barbara County, political and other noncommercial signs may not be placed in the public right-of-way and must follow applicable California placement and removal requirements.
Voting Locations
California prohibits electioneering within 100 feet of the entrance to a polling place, curbside voting location, or ballot drop box while voting is taking place. That includes displaying a candidate’s name, image, logo, or campaign sign.
Stay Involved
A yard sign is one way to be part of this
